Dr David Nyaluke is the UCD-Proudly Made in Africa Fellow in Business and Development. He researches and teaches on Doing Business in and with Africa and Sustainable Development across UCD and 15 business schools and departments of business in universities, colleges and institutes of technology in Ireland. Before joining Proudly Made in Africa and University College Dublin, David completed a PhD from Dublin City University (DCU). His doctoral thesis investigated trajectories of political and economic development transformation of African states from independence into the 21st Century.

With a research focus on development in African states, he has presented at several conferences, including a 2014 special symposium to mark 20 years of South Africa’s end of apartheid and return to democracy. David is also published in many journals and contributes regular reviews on African political, business and sustainable development issues. His most recent Routledge co-publication is the 2019- Challenging Perceptions of Africa in Schools: Critical Approaches to Global Justice Education.

David is currently the vice-chairperson of the African Scholars Association of Ireland, (AfSAI), Convenor of the Business and Development Study Group at Development Studies Association of Ireland and Co-Coordinator of African Students Association of Ireland(ASAI) and Concern Worldwide- Mandela Global Development Inter-varsity Debate Competition and is the co-chair of Steering Committee for United Nations International Decade for People of African Descent 2015-2024 (UNIDPAD) in Ireland.
